Very convenient and time saving.
I've been too busy lately to use this particular oven, but it performs wonderfully well if you want a solar oven that matches the cooking times as your gas oven recipes. It's not as portable as the fold up ovens, but it does a more accurate and though job of preparing your meal; and it's use of full size pots is very convenient and time saving.

I love my sun oven, it's a great convenience. I consider the cost a wonderful investment. I even have the stack-able pans and drying racks for it and love them just as much as the oven its self.

Excellent product.
Excellent product. I have two and I cook year round with them. I've probably already got my money back for one of them by saving on air conditioning and electric stove savings. I love this product and recommend it highly. I am a DIY type of guy, but I could not build one as good as this.

We really enjoy this oven.
We really enjoy this oven. I set it up mid-day and usually cook a chicken. It comes out perfectly. I used it to dry sliced apples and then froze them. It took about 2-3 hours. In our desert area it usually gets up to about 300-350 degrees. I follow the directions and rotate the oven slightly to get the best of the sun.

Love this oven

I like my All American Sun Oven A LOT!!! Features I Like: 1)The Size! This thing is huge which is a good thing. My older previous Solar Oven (SunDiner) I owned was small and was limiting as to what could be cooked in it. 2) The Leveling Rack! Yes - very innovative! Tilt the Sun Oven all the way up in its lowest notch on a mid winter day and everything stays nice and level - cakes, cornbread, liquids, soups, stews etc. I was not able to cook these foods in my previous Solar Oven. 3) Sturdy Construction - Takes a beating and keeps on Heating! : ) 4) The alignment indicators - makes lining it up with the sun a breeze! 5) The large reflectors! Cooks pretty well on overcast days even! I highly recommend this All American Sun Oven to anyone that is interested in Solar Cooking - it works!

You know it's coming.
You know it's coming. Those zombies will be all over the place and after a long day of shooting and surviving, what's the one thing that can make it all better? Fresh-baked cookies out of your solar oven. I've done ginger snaps and oatmeal and they're both delicious and easy. If you're serious about survivalism, this should be in your arsenal. Sure you can risk going out and getting bitten by zombies as you collect firewood, but why not use something that doesn't require fuel nor electricity?

Mr Daniel oaks, president of DVO enterprises sent me a welcome to (all american sun oven )email, and as a new customer I do appreciate the welcome gesture. If where can I begin! this sun oven its outstanding, phenomenal and well thought out. For those customers looking at my review; trust me it is a well worth investment to buy this bad boy, I'm in sunny california and I'm sure I will get the most out of this solar oven, 3 words I am hooked, and thats as simple as I can lay it out to you, I have 3 videos in youtube (all american estufa solar) I did it in Spanish to tell my community how simple and exciting is to use it. This sun oven will be a hit in central america, I got a trip to guatemala city soon and guess what tagged along is going to be my solar oven to teach and show my relatives down there. With that said, don't hesitate on buying one of this bad poppies, its fun and catching using it. One tiny little suggest for the manufacturer of sun oven, I see the bottom of the oven its getting a few scratches, a 4 low profile rubber legs will be a neat add on to this cooker, I try to keep my gadgets nice and clean. Thanks for a great outstanding product and I hope this helps another customer to decide to buy it.

Very well made
Very well made and works well providing there is sunlight and limited cloudiness. While its larger than some new options, one needs all that room to cook meat, side dish, vegetable and coffee/tea water all at once. I just cooked cinnamon rolls and hot coffee while anchored out on a boat over nite. It warmed up polish sausage and saucer kraut and dinner rolls last nite. It does take up a lot of room on a boat, though. I put it in the overhead bed in a van camper. Handy in that most of the needed accessories fit inside and you can use it as a cooler for food and drinks. Basically, one needs to be organized and maybe take some short cuts if in a hurry, e.g. I just warm up pre cooked bacon since I'm too hungry in the morning to wait. Btw, it'll cook pancakes from those instant mix Bisquick bottles. I bought a cheap frying pan and unscrewed the handle to get a baking dish with sides on it. The pans that come with it heat rapidly and seem almost non stick of wiped off quickly. The case is remarkably durable and tough. I've had it rolling around in the bottom of a cabin cruiser. It's probably best used on land or on a large houseboat...

It bakes bread just like her gas oven
We purchased our SunOven for emergency use since we live on the end of miles of rural electric. But we sure wanted to try it out before the emergency, What great Baked Chickens this Oven does. Our neighbor bakes a lot of bread so wanted to try out the SunOven. It bakes bread just like her gas oven. Just remember to start early enough to get the most direct sun possible and occasionally re aim the oven. You can run out of sun before the bread is done.

I have used my oven and it is so wonderful...we love using it, the most problem is I forget to use it sometimes. I love to go over and smell what is cooking in the oven when I get home from work!!! It always smells wonderful! Cooks great! I have so much more to cook in it. We have taken it with us for a day at the beach and had a great meal in the evening!!

Absolutely love this oven.
Prepared my oven for cooking by the oven instructions. Tried a pretzel brownie mix as my first test. It was sunny when I started the process, but 10 min into cooking time, cloud cover came over and temperature dropped to 200 degrees F. I just left it alone and when the cloud cover moved, the oven quickly went to 320 degrees F. Took a bit longer to cook the brownies, but who cares, the power is free! The brownies were perfectly done and delicious. Bread baking is next. I put my oven on a glass table on our deck, aimed it south and just had to adjust it one time by turning slightly for maximum sun exposure. Absolutely love this oven. I can see already that it will be my primary oven for the hot summer months in the south since I don't want the house to heat up on the inside. I believe it is best to buy this complete set because the pot and pan sizes are perfect.

It's a good
It's a good sun oven it don't need to face direct to the sun at any angle but does need to have the shadow directly behind the box which shows the direction of the sun.

This oven is amazing.
This oven is amazing. Easy to set up and use. I have done three dinners in it, and it performed as advertised. Brisket is probably my least favorite meat, so I experimented with it first, I didn't care if it turned out or not. It turned out so wonderful, even my husband who is from Texas said it was the best he ever tasted. It was done perfectly, tender and juicy, and the fat content was down as in the 6 hours I cooked it, it had been reduced to a minimum. I then did a casserole, then chicken and baked potatoes. I made some timing errors, but that was my fault, not the ovens. There is a learning curve, because it is different from a regular oven you can regulate, but a stick under the glass helps to reduce the heat if needed. I'm very happy with it. The CD that came with it wouldn't load tho.

Shipping was great and it came fast. I'm still getting to know my oven. I sliced some tomatoes from my garden to dry, set up the oven and when I got home from work, my tomatoes were sun dried. I will say even in Albuquerque we have some overcast days so the second time I dried tomatoes, it took 2 days......but I still didn't need to watch them since the temp only needs to stay between 110 to 150 for dehydrating. Remember to prop open the door when dehydrating to let out the moisture. I put a pencil between the glass door and seal so it would not close tight and had better luck dehydrating. When cleaning the oven I was surprised it got up to 350 easily. So this weekend I'm going to bake something because to keep the temp up, you have to rotate the oven every 25 - 30 minutes. It is easy to figure out and soon you will find just the right spot in your backyard where the sun hits it just for most of the day.

He loves the oven
I bought a basic Sun Oven over 25 years ago and am still using it. I got the new one for one of my friends. He loves the oven and tries to use it every weekend since he works long hours during the weekdays. We live in Arizona and by cooking outside, the heat stays outside. The interior of the house stays cooler and the A/C unit doesn't have to work so hard. The new features which include the thermometer, siting capability, cooking racks, and pans are great. I just wish they were included when I bought my oven decades ago!

Glad I bought it
Great product.....everything came as promised, in excellent condition. I have already used it to make baked pasta with sausage, and it was good. I use the oven primarily to cook foods that require a lot of boiling, like beans. Dry beans get done within 3-4 hours in the sun oven and that keeps the smells and steam from the beans out of my house. My house stays cool and I don't have to constantly watch for a pot over boiling. The oven beats a slow cooker for this cause the slow cooker puts out a great deal of heat inside a kitchen. Glad I bought it.

Love my sun oven use it for all sorts of cooking, had it for 5 years so it well tested . It does the best pork roast slow cooked with a apricot sauce over it ,plus you can use it to dehydrate any spare veg for use in the winter months

We just got our oven yesterday. It is supposed to be our Christmas gift to each other, but we couldn't resist unpacking it and trying it out. Baked pizza and a cherry pie in it today. Worked like a charm! We love it. Now, we have to pack it back up until Christmas, or maybe not!!

The All American Sun Oven is amazing.
The All American Sun Oven is amazing. It cooks a whole chicken in just over the same amount of time your kitchen oven would. My wife loves cooking two dozen eggs for Easter egg painting in very short order. If the power goes down and you have sunlight, you will not regret buying this high quality unit. The cooking pans and dehydrating racks are a perfect match for the Sun Oven.

Excellent Oven Excellent Oven. Considering function it is worth the price. Cooks easily as well as conventional oven, and just as fast on a clear sunny day even in extreme temperatures. We cooked several meals in at 30F on clear days and our food was done as fast and in some cases even faster then when we used a conventional oven. We cooked 2 frozen Chicken Breasts, 2 Sweet Potatoes, carrots, and broccoli on our first meal. All of it cooked perfectly. The sweet potatoes were the best that I've ever had! 2nd day we cooked a Pot Roast. Excellent texture and flavor. Again no burning and cooked efficiently. 3rd day we cooked homemade Baked Beans and they cooked completely in 3.5 hours instead of the usual 5-6 hours on the stove. I'd purchase it again. As far as seller, the product was delivered on time and there were no unexpected issues. Excellent transaction and a satisfied customer!

Well made oven. After seeing so many cardboard boxes and tin-foil on the internet, I was a bit fearful it would be cheaply constructed. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Looks like it will last for years. THANXX to all the staff/workers for making a great product in the U.S.A.

Pretty darn amazing Amazing! I am still trying to master the dehydration method, but everything else works as shown. I have cooked brownies, oatmeal, boiled water and a few more things to start testing and they are worked wonderfully. Everything it comes with, the hydrating shelves, pots, ect, is an added bonus to get you going almost out of the box. I highly recommend this because of the ease of use and the quality product. 4 stars only because 5 means perfect, that's a very rare rating for me... I "thought" I could make one, but not like this, do I am glad I bought. This could be a lifesaver...

One excellent product!
Great oven One excellent product! The first time we tried this oven there was snow covering the entire ground and it still reached 325 degrees within about twenty minutes. Baking bread was our first thing to try and it turned out perfect. We absolutely love this oven. It seems to be very well made and easy to align to get the maximum use of the sun. It is fun to use and very energy efficient

Great for everyday and emergencies cooking. I am so glad I ordered this for two reasons, to cook using Mothers Natures energy and for emergencies. I haven't used it often yet, but look forward to using it more this spring and summer. We get rather breezy in CO Springs so I need to experiment with the right location to get the right sun, but protect it from the wind. It is very compact and has the perfect additions of pans etc. We plan on taking it camping with us the next time just my husband and I go.

I am very pleased with this purchase. I have used this for over a year now. I am on net metering. so I don't use power from 12 to 6pm. have cooked and baked, mostly cookie and corn bread. winter months 340f and summer over 380. I am very pleased with this purchase. I am still using the pots and racks that came with it.

It's truly a great product and works very well!
I've had my Global Sun Oven for 5 years now and use it fairly regularly on my boat at the sandbar in the Tampa Bay Area on the weekends & holidays. It has been so effective and so well liked, I bought the new/improved All American Sun Oven for my girlfriend. She is amazed every time we use it how effective it is and how great the food tastes. I always tell her, "Photon's are better than Electron's" for cooking.... Now we use her's around the house and mine on the boat. It's truly a great product and works very well!
